User Flow

Deeper Dive into the Solution

The problem statement gave me clear roadmap of what I needed to build   ---   an intuitive navigation that allows users to switch between learning , competition & collecting art all in one go.  The Login/Signup experience will also be simple and easy so that it creates a seamless journey for users and they can expect the other pages to work the same way . I have designed the screens with 2 views, View 1 will be for a new user. View 2 will be for a user that already has an account.

View 1
  • The home page has options for users to easily navigate to either Learn/Compete/Collect.
  • The primary navigation is a side navigation with all pages listed, it has a link to the Courses, Competition pages among others.
View 2
  • Assuming your already a user and have an account. I have used a simple tab based top nav bar that allows to switch between all and my courses as a secondary nav, the side nav will still be the primary way to navigate through the app.
  • You can easily favourite any courses that you wish to enroll in the future with a simple add to favs featutes.
  • You can even collect your own art pieces, this page has clear card based categories for Impressionism, Pop Art, Abstract Art & Cubism
  • You can get the entire details of any art piece you wish to collect along with details on how to take care of it.. you can expand on an image to see the full image for a better look of the art piece you wish to collect, if its a sculpture a 360 degree view is added in.

Colors and Typography

Colors

The primary color is powder dusk blue(#2359A9) and secondary is Sunshine yellow(#FFD670) They form a classic complementary color pair. Blue gives a sense of calm and safety while the yellow adds fun and light to the designs. The two colors work harmoniously to create a beautiful blend that is soothing to the eye and at the same time fresh and fun just what the brand represents.

Typography

The font typeface used for designs is Source Sans Pro. It is a modern, quirky & fun font . It is well readable and legible, keeping in mind inclusivity for people. With a variety of weights that read easily at all sizes, Source Sans Pro provides clear headers as well as highly-readable body text.

Key Take Aways

  • Building a User Flow gave me a lot of idea into how the navigation could be easy and intuitive for users.
  • It was difficult to anticipate the right user flow as I did not do extensive User research into similar apps out there.
  • The app focuses on a target audience of 20 - 50 yrs which could be limiting to teens and users older in age.
